How old are you?

Based on a recent study published by the Knoxville News Sentinel, Knoxville residents were named the "oldest" in the nation based on a lifestyle survey that calculated the body's health age. Realage.com, created by Drs. Oz and Roizen, is responsible for the results. Realage.com is a website which calculates your true body age based on your level of health.

The actual average age of a Knoxvillian is 33 years old, however because of our lack of concern for our health, we have been deemed as the oldest city in the United States. I don't know about you but I find this very upsetting. According to the study, we live in a region with the "highest prevalence of obesity, inactivity and diabetes." It is time for us to wake up, Knoxville!

What can we do about this? We have got to help people understand that our bodies are a wonderful creation, but they will not function properly if they are abused. Our bodies are machines and machines need maintenance. We need to fuel them properly (with nutrient rich foods and adequate water intake), condition them to perform properly (with regular exercise) and ensure that our brain is able to send the proper signals to the rest of the body (by getting regular Chiropractic adjustments). Chiropractic care helps the body maintain its natural ability to communicate these signals to the other organs, tissues, and cells in the body by removing any interference in the Central Nervous System.

If you were to test your true body age what would it reveal? I don't believe that our Creator ever intended for us to abuse His most prized creation the way that we have. It is time to make a change.
